Kory's Namesake

Kory's namesake - Kory David Smith -  had his baby blessing Sunday, June 5, 2011. Kory was able to be there and participate in the circle.  He has said that he's felt very honored to have a baby named after him, especially the son of his best friend. Austin once told me that he did so because he wanted his son to be the same example of friendship that Kory was to him. I don't know what was exactly said in the blessing and I will leave that to Amy; you can see that on their blog when they post it at A. Smith Family.  I am so proud to have such an amazing person like Kory in my life that has been an influence for good to his friends as well as to his future sons.

*For future references: "Little Kory" is the Smith's baby and "My Kory" is Mr. Dopp. ;)

Sydney's Baby Blessing

Little Sydney Teresa Dopp was blessed into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Sunday, December 5th, 2010. For those who missed it, I took some notes for journaling purposes:

"Blessed that as you grow, the gospel will be the center of your life.
"You will be an example of living the gospel to your siblings and everyone you come in contact with.
"You will seek after education and apply the teachings to your life and helping others.
"Blessed to meet a worthy man one day and be married in the Temple and have an eternal family.
"Blessed with the love of many people."

We love our Baby Sydney! :)

New Calling

Kory got a new calling to be the Stake Men's Sports Coordinator! He said it was definitely unexpected. He will now be coordinating all the Stake Volleyball, Basketball, and Softball tournaments, as well as being part of the Stake Activities Committee. Sounds like a fun calling to me :)

Bishop Bryce

Today, my dad was ordained the new Bishop of the Highland 11th Ward, my home ward. He was interviewed last Thursday after getting a phone call during a golf tournament. Kory and my brother, Derik were also on his golfing team and he had to abandon them for the last 9 holes in order to get to his interview with the stake president. Fortunately for them, my mom and I went the dinner that they had in between the 18 holes and they "allowed" (made) me stay to take his place. Since it was night golf, no one really knew my amazing skills at golf. ;)
As for my dad, he is excited for his new calling in life and his wife is now a sacrament widow. But as she says, "it'll all be fine." :) Congrats and Good Luck to Bishop Flanary!
