Up to date on Miss Sydney T!

Sydney Teresa is 22 months old, can you believe it. I am way overdue for an update, so here it is!

Sydney's latest fascinations:
  • The BIGGEST copycat ever! That's why she seems to learn so fast, because she will mimic practically everything you say and what the TV or talking books say. The worst thing she has picked up was, "oh crap". That would be my fault, haha.
  • Knows all her colors and signs (still learning what the actual colors look like, but at least the name and sign match up).
  • Knows many zoo and farm animals' name and signs.
  • Likes to sing to the hymns in church (with words you can't understand).
  • Likes to read books.
  • Favorite movie: Rio, the Movie (mommy's so proud) ;)
  • She knows when it's time to say prayer and she folds her arms really well. When we say close your eyes, she pokes at her eyelids trying to shut them with her fingers.
  • Says "bless you" when you sneeze, even if you are in a completely different room from you.
  • Loves splashing in water.
  • LOVES to chew ice! No understatement. She may get her looks from her daddy, but this she gets from me.
  • Loves Ice Cream (another thing I get to share with my baby).
  • When she sees something big, she emphasizes the "big" by deepening her voice: i.e. "BIG Book", "BIG Boat", etc.
  • Loves spicy food. Rare, but it really doesn't seem to affect her; she can't ever get enough it seems like.
  • Ipad savy...Meaning she knows exactly where her games and videos are on the ipad and can navigate herself there. Crazy.
  • She is part boy: she likes to play with cars and make shooting noises. (Her daddy taught her that.)

Miss ipad-savy. Kids are so smart and pick up on things so fast.

 Eating a peach cupcake.
 Sharing some ice cream :)

 Eating a Costco muffin.
This is to show the bruises all over her legs. She's quite the active and adventurous one.

Playing at the park and with sidewalk chalk.
Drinking out of mommy's water mug that she takes everywhere.
Coloring...learning how to stay on the paper.
Sydney is advertizing daddy's new work shirts. "SOL Power"
Not many toddlers can stand the heat of "Asian Zing" chicken wings from Buffalo Wild Wings. These were homemade and she devoured about 2-3.

Two examples of her not sharing her chocolate. Wonder where she gets that from?...
 Latest fascination: Corn
Ice!
Loves the park. Hence the third set of park pictures.

 Get that apple!

Listen carefully, because she is copying what Donald Duck says.
Learning how to play Angry Birds. If you listen closely, she is imitating the blowing up noises. :)

Waterparks

Since we have a "Pass of All Passes" this year, we have unlimited access to Seven Peaks Waterpark; therefore, I have taken Sydney there as much as possible. You will see in these pictures how Sydney's attitude changes about the water as the summer has progressed. I love that she loves water. :)

This was a pool party at my Uncle Kerry's house and one of Sydney's first encounters with a pool.  At first you can see that she was timid about getting in the water but still curious enough to be brave.

Help from Auntie Shantely ("Telly")

Seven Peaks
With Auntie Shelby ("Belby")
Going down the slide with Aunt Sabrina ("Nina").  Sabrina kept her head above water at the end so she was not scared at all. She already loved slides, so this one was pretty awesome to her!
And this is me finding a way to tan the backs of my legs while being 8 months pregnant. ;) Hehe, Ironically, it actually worked really well! Just in case you were wondering. :)

Going to the Zoo

Yesterday was the first time Sydney has ever been to the zoo. We went to Hogle Zoo in Salt Lake, where I used to go as a kid. I remember loving it. They have expanded and improved the zoo since- now equipped with a full carousel and Rocky Shores polar animal exhibit. Sydney has been hooked on Signing Time and one of the episodes she watches the most is called "The Zoo Train", therefore, she recognized many of the animals she knew from her show plus got to see how big some of them really are (i.e. the elephants). I can't wait to take her again.
Bird Show (left): We had hawks and owls fly RIGHT OVER our heads. Honestly, if Kory didn't duck at one point, it couldn't clawed his eye out - literally. It took us all off guard since we were sitting in the back. Sydney did love seeing all the birds.
Elephants (right)
She is telling the elephants to "come here", just so you know. :)

Juvenile gorilla. We told her to stretch her arms and she would stretch her legs instead.
 Camels

Elephant exhibit again (giant wooden elephant that would spray water from his trunk spontaneously.

Playground fun

End of the day car ride home...We wore her out. :)
