Our First House!

I understand that is has been a while since I've blogged. So sorry. But I have a good reason....
WE MOVED!


We bought our first house! 

I don't have any pictures of our own of the inside yet because it is still somewhat of a disaster, so these are the pics from the Real Estate website. We are officially homeowners. :)

It is a 4 bedroom, 3 bath, 2552 sq ft 2-story house in Eagle Mountain. It has the space we need to grow and in a ward that has young families like us, so we are very hopeful for a fun, new experience. We miss our Alpine ward and neighbors very much and wish we could take them with us, but I hope even though we are farther away, we can still stay close friends.

Our first improvement!

We painted the main room: Great room and Kitchen.
We covered the weird tan texturing that surrounded the fireplace and expanded to the kitchen with Cream, and painted the fireplace corner the gorgeous blue! It came out a titch lighter than I expected but I still like it. :) Here's to new home improvements!

Moving Day

It's been a while, but two Saturdays ago (January 29th) we officially moved out of our apartment in Provo. A bitter-sweet moment. We felt very loved by the turnout of our Elder's Quorum; 15 men from our EQ showed up! And they were such good sports. I'm not even sure half of them knew we were on the third floor. Lol, but they came and did it with a smile. :) My two brothers came too, and we were fortunate enough to borrow my father's utility trailer and truck. We still had leftover junk so we filled my friend Alysa's truck and even had to throw some stuff in our friend Dylan's car as well. We had more accumulated stuff then I thought. We got it all moved over to our new duplex in Alpine (Still with pictures to come) in one day. Yeah! Thank you all who helped us! I still owe you cookies. :)

MOVING!

Announcement: We are moving to Alpine, UT!!!!! Yay for FINALLY getting away from long commutes and throwing gas money out the window. We weren't even actively looking. One day Kory was just browsing around KSL.com and fell upon an affordable duplex that was for rent in Alpine. Most places to rent in Alpine are $800 or more but we found a great sized place for only $675/mo! We were excited. We had to jump on it. This will be such a blessing for us for many reason; like I mentioned we will save tons of money on gas because the new place is only a couple blocks away from work. Heck, he could walk or ride a bike to work! Great exercise. ;) Other benefits are that it will be easier to share a car, we will save on Kory's commuting time, a bigger place, lots of storage space, no more worrying about basement neighbors to bother, a yard, being closer to family and some of our good friends, AND not being in front of a bar! (As fun as that has been....) The sad and hardest part of this decision was leaving our ward and friends in the area that we love so much. We want excuses to come visit them ANYTIME (hint hint) ;) Just us missing them will probably get us down to Provo often enough. hehe

We need to sell our contract here before we can officially get moved into the new place, but hopefully that will be quick since Provo is such a hot spot for couples (can't imagine why?). ;) This will probably happen within the next two weeks of Jan and beginning of Feb. (I will take pictures on Tuesday and post them asap.)
