Sydney's 4th Birthday & 1st year Preschool

Sydney T turned 4 this year on September 10th.
For Sydney's birthday, we celebrated the day after so all those who wanted to watch the BYU football game with us could stay.  I made a chocolate cake with purple frosting (same as last year) and she had some friends over to play with.  (Friends included our neighbors the Frydays, Austin Smith and family, Jordan and Ashley, and parents and siblings.)

She received a bow and arrow from the Frydays and a new purple bike from us and Grandma Teresa & Grandpa Randy.  She immediately was good at pedaling the bike and continues to want to ride it daily.  (I actually accidentally put only three candles on her cake at first. Oops...)

This year was Sydney's FIRST year of Preschool.  Both her and mommy were SUPER excited. ;)
She is attending Nisha's Happy Hearts Preschool located here in the Silverlake subdivision every Mon/Wed/Fri. She wishes she could go everyday (as well as her jealous younger sister who thinks she's 4 as well).
Classic Sydney pose by the way.
(Ainsley's bangs are curled because they had gotten so long I was experimenting.  She looks like she was a child of my era. Nothing wrong with that, right?) ;)
Ainsley got her backpack for her birthday for this very reason...

Poor Ainsley was (is still) so jealous.
Her other best friend, Kendyl, who happened to also be on her Tball team this year.

Ainsley the Dare-Devil

Miss Ainsley bug wants to fly.  She thinks she can do everything her big sister can.  I love her "I can do anything I set my mind to" attitude. :) I hope she grows up feeling the same way always.

See how that mom is trying to get her older child to come down? Yea, she never did slide down.

 See what I mean?...
She sees her sister do one thing and immediately wants to do it herself. And by that I mean, ALL by herself; no help required or she screams at you.
Wanted to ride the Big kid swing.
Getting stuck...Inevitable.

The other moms at this park looked over at me at first wondering if I was going to help my small child go down the slide. I sit on the bench and just smile. After Ainsley goes down wildly, plops on the ground and starts laughing, the women give me this smile and say, "oh I guess she doesn't need any help."
"Nope." :)
Later, I overheard the women talking about how Ainsley makes their kids look like whips.
Haha, I smiled. ;)

However, she does know when she has an actual "owie."

Sydney's 3rd Birthday

September 10, 2013
Happy 3rd Birthday, Sydney T!
(I am slow at catching up with my blogging since we moved and placed the computer in our cold basement. haha.)

A few weeks after moving to Eagle Mountain, our sweet Sydney T turned 3 years old! What a fun and fabulous age full of discoveries and learning. I have loved it so far (except for the potty training part....another story).
This year we went all out and rented a bouncy house for the party. September can either be the perfect month for outdoor birthdays or the worst: last year it rained all evening on her birthday.  But this year the weather was bliss!

We had all our close friends and their kids - who are also Sydney's close friends - and had pulled pork sandwich dinner, cake, ice cream (of course) and bouncy house fun. Thanks to all who came. Sydney STILL talks about that birthday to this day. :)
(In case you couldn't tell, purple is literally her favorite color. She called it her "Purple Party.")

Her requested "purple" cake. (FYI: Purple is a very difficult color to make with food coloring.)

Ains chillin' at the party

My cousin, Josh Day, brought his pet alligator. It was a hit.

A gigantic THANK YOU to all of Sydney's little friends who came to her birthday party!
