So, this has to be the luckiest time in our lives... I say that only because we have received free tickets twice to two very expensive concerts: first, the Stadium of Fire and now, George Strait; not to mention the free 1/2 gallon of ice cream from Dryers! The story is funny to how we got these tickets. Like most of you know, I have to drive to Salt Lake every morning to go to my internship and since we don't have a CD player in our car, I listen to the morning shows on the radio. Kory and I are country fans and my favorite station right now is 101.5 "The Eagle" and this past week they have been doing 2 free George Strait ticket giveaways. What the contestant had to do after calling in was they had to complete the George Strait song that the DJs started- they would sing a line from ANY of his thousands of songs and you would have to finish it. I had tried calling a couple times in the past trying to win things but I have never gotten through-ever-and never thought I would. Haha But to my surprise last Tuesday morning I actually got through! The song that day was "Write This Down," and when I heard it I was like, "oh cool, I know that song," so I called. I got a busy signal initially but hung up and tried again anyway and it started ringing. By that time, some lady was on the line already answering; I stayed on the line anyway because it was ringing. Well, then I heard the lady get the answer incorrect and all of a sudden the DJ was talking to me! Haha I was shocked! Also because he was still talking on the radio at the time he answered my phone call (I didn't know this then but our conversation was about 15 seconds behind what was being said on the radio). So i turned the radio down and the DJ started singing the line again which was: "Write this down, take a little note, To remind you in case you didn't know. Tell yourself I love you and I don't want you to go. Baby, write this down..." and that was where I was supposed to pick up. So I start singing, "Take my words and read them every day. Keep them close by, don't you let them fade away, So you remember what I forgot to say. Baby, write this down." Funny thing was, I forgot part way through because I was still so excited to get through that I forgot the words. Ahh! Lucky for me, they just thought that I was hilarious because I was freaking out about forgetting the words when I really did know the song. After laughing at me, they decided to give me the tickets anyway. :) So that is how I won free George Strait tickets off the radio. Haha NEVER thought I would ever do that! After, hanging up the phone, I turned the radio back up and heard the end of our conversation. I heard my voice for a second, it was kinda weird... :)

Stadium of Fire!
We received free Stadium of Fire tickets this year through my sister's Utah Starrz soccer team. They had 30 tickets that they were giving away to the teammates and we ended up with 10 for the family, although most of the family was not interested in going, due to the fact that it was the Jonas Brother's ... haha. Anyway, Kory and I had nothing else to do on the 4th of July so we took two tickets, then my two brothers, Dustin and Derik, took two and my other sister and brother, Sabrina and Dakota. My parents were going to go as well but they decided not to (it was the night before the Sunday he was sustained as bishop and still had to choose councilors) so we had four tickets and no takers. Finally, our friends Jordan and Ashley Hix accepted to go and they took their little niece and nephew who probably had the best time out of all of us (considering that they are 10 and 9 years old and big-time Jonas Brother fans).
Overall, the firework show was a blast and SHEDaisy was really good and the flyby by the US Air Force was a sweet show as well! We had a great time.
