Salt Lake Getaway!

I love my husband. Let's just start with that.
He was so adorable when he decided to surprise me with a 2-day getaway to Salt Lake City.  He originally told me that the day after his business trip, he wanted to take me out on a date to a Diner's, Drive-Ins, and Dives' restaurant. I loved that little surprise and I looked forward to it.  But then a few days later, Kory's mom calls up and tells us that she is making a surprise visit to Utah. That was so fun to hear that Kory couldn't hold it in any longer and said that he was not only going to take me on a date but that he was going to take me to a hotel in Salt Lake for 2 days just to get away and have some fun.  I LOVED this surprise even more!  I know Salt Lake is just down the way from Alpine, but it's the "get away" part that I needed. Kory knows his wife well.  He knew that I get stir-crazy easy and that I was jealous of his business trips to Florida (not the business part, just the Florida part), so a 2-day getaway was enough to make me happy. :) He took me to a the "Triple D" place called Moochies. They had amazing Philly Cheesesteaks and Meatball sandwiches.  AMAZING food. Don't forget to use their Jalapeno Sauce because it is the perfect spice to add to the perfect sandwich.  Another recommendation of food places in SLC if you are ever in the area. And this one was not hard to find and very popular (all "Triple D" place are).
Sydney loved the big bed. :)
Love da face!
SURPRISE! Surprise #3, the one surprise he was able to with hold. :) Kory got the Executive Suite with the Large Jacuzzi! How I love Jacuzzis! It was awesome and down right heavenly.

Of course Sydney had a good time too. haha
The cup got stuck on her foot and I had to take a picture.

SO YUMMY!

What a great 2 days! :)

Grandma T's visit to Utah

This past week, Kory's mom came to visit. I love it when she comes to visit. She is such a joy and we love having her around. I don't know all the details of what she did exactly while she was out here, I just know the parts that included us. :)
She stayed with us a few days and we got to spend Conference Weekend with her at her parents' house in Logan.  She got to see her grandbaby, Sydney, who missed her very much! (obviously.)  We hope that her visit got to cheer her up a bit. :)

Conference at Grandma Fullmers

Her beauty pose!!! She does this all day long!
She loves her Grandma Teresa. This is a new face of hers though. LOL.

Grandma Teresa and Great Grandma Cheryl helped watch Sydney while Mommy and Daddy went to Cafe Sabor (amazing Mexican restaurant in Logan).
General Conference dinner with family

After Conference and Shelby and mom's visit during the week, Kory and I met up with them once again to have lunch before mom flew back to Illinois.  We went to Pat's BBQ in Salt Lake. If anyone knows Kory, then you know that he LOVES Barbaque. Me, on the other hand, have had to pick and choose what BBQ foods I like and don't like.  Pat's, however, was amazing and had an AMAZING mild BBQ sauce that I couldn't get enough of! Kory loved the hot BBQ sauce. The pork ribs were heavenly and we would recommend this joint to anyone. It was a Diner's, Drive-Ins, and Dives place (from the Food Network (we love the Food Network!)) and is found in the most obscure location. I recommend using a GPS if you're not good at finding addresses, or make sure you realize that you will not just "run into it".

A sign outside of Pat's BBQ. haha

Her daddy made a funny sound with his tongue and she gave us this face. :)
Finally, we just want Mom to know how much we appreciate her. She is such an inspiration to us. She may kill me for saying this, but she is currently battling cancer and has had to undergo surgery (December 31, 2010) and chemotherapy already (2 treatments so far).  She probably will have to undergo more treatments in the near future.  We know that cancer is not an easy thing to deal with, in addition to everything else going on in her life. But she needs to know that we still love her and want her around.  She has such a way of spreading optimism and love wherever she goes, no matter what is crumbling down around her. We know she has her bad days, but we hope she knows that she will always matter in our lives and that we pray for her everyday.
We bought this frame to hang up in Sydney's room as a ray of sunshine and a witness that miracles still happen... and that she is our example of that.

We Love You, Grandma Teresa! :)
