Friends of the NRA Banquet

Kory was on the Friend of the NRA committee this year, thus we attended the "Friends of the NRA Banquet". The NRA is the National Rifle Association of America which is a group of people who wholly defend the Second Amendment (our right to bear arms). The Friends of the NRA is a non-profit organization that promotes fundraisers to raise money for the promotions of shooting sports. It is because of Friends of the NRA that we have a lot of our public shooting ranges and boy scout ranges. At the Banquet there were raffles for various products for hunting and gun related home decor, including a variety of guns & rifles, hunting table or tent, dutch oven, home decor mirrors & pictures of wild game, NRA toaster, Indian jewelry, etc.) There was also a live auction where they gave away various other hunting stuff and a hunting safari trip in South Africa for four (a $19,000 value that sold for $3200! Wow!) They also had a silent auction and bingo that gave away a giant gun safe (which a young girl ended up winning. lol). We didn't leave empty handed that's for sure. We came home with a new Black-powder Rifle that we won at the silent auction for only $80. A little gift and new toy for Kory. ;) It was a lot of fun! We got to enjoy it with our friends Matt and Elise Thompson who have participated with the Friends of the NRA for many years now.

NOTES: Also taken in this picture are two other things I have to point out. 1) Notice Kory's wonderful success with Ideal Protein! He has lost 25 lbs so far in five weeks! He looks so hot! ;) hehe. And 2) notice the little polka-dotted baby rump in the bottom corner. hahaha That's my cute baby!

Our Story...

Kory and Shay found each other at Brigham Young University at a Ward Choir practice, and they have been inseparable ever since. All except for the year and a half that she decided to follow Kory's lead and serve the Lord as a full time missionary, where she did so in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil from 2007-2008. Kory valiantly served in the New York, New York South Mission during 2003-2005. Now that they have been majestically reunited, they finished their college degrees while initially living in Provo, Utah. Now, they reside in Alpine, Utah. Two turned to three when their gorgeous daughter, Sydney, entered their lives September 2010. They currently live a challenging, yet happy life, and await for the next turn life's path brings them.
