Sydney's ability was like night and day from the time she first put on the skates to the minute we left the rink. When Kory and I helped her first step on the ice, she couldn't even stay on her feet (watch Video 1). Luckily, Seven Peaks Ice Arena has these kid walkers you can rent, so we tried to get Sydney to stay up with that. After taking a very slooooooow skate around the rink once she wasn't acting too thrilled about the whole experience. But then she immediately wanted to get back on. My family had invited us to come along so we had my sisters who had fun taking Sydney around the ice. As we watched Sydney attempt to figure out the skates, we noticed that she was getting better. By the end, Sydney refused the help from anyone; she wouldn't let anyone touch her walker, including me (Video 2). She actually started to look really good for a 2-year old. Kory vocally told, "I'm so proud." :) I can't wait to put her in lessons! (Possibly next year.. ;) )
"Don't touch it," she says. ("it" being the walker)
(Kory makes it look all too easy.)
